Upgrade to Windows 10 is coming!

What you need to know!

Insight in cooperation with OCIO is modernizing the desktop environment by migrating its Windows 7 end points to the Windows 10 Operating System. Windows 10 provides end-users with a feature rich and more secure platform than all previous versions of Windows. Microsoft will be ending support for Windows 7 in January 2020 and security updates will no longer be available for that operating system. Ensuring a timely migration to Windows 10 prior to that date is paramount.

The purpose of this communication e-mail is to inform you about the upcoming upgrade to Windows 10 in the OCIO environment and what you can expect in the coming days before the Windows 10 deployments begin. We are very excited about this project and the benefits that it will bring to End Users.

What you should know about the Windows 10 upgrade

• • The Windows 10 upgrade process will minimize impact to your daily job functions.

  • Windows 10 training videos and FAQs are available for the Support Desk, IT Admins, and End Users on the Windows 10 Google site.

  • A “Getting Started with Windows 10” communication will be sent out the day after your upgrade has completed to help you with common tasks.

  • “What about my files and applications?” Windows 10 will be done as an in-place upgrade to keep your existing files, applications, and settings as they currently are.
